Sedation Dentistry

Sedation dentistry is a dental treatment performed to provide a relaxing, comfortable and anxiety-free experience to the persons undergoing the treatment. This procedure enables individuals to receive the right dental care they need while steering clear of the common nervousness known as dental phobia. Dental sedation can help patients get through several sorts of dental work such as tooth extractions, root canals, dental implantation and more.
Dental Anxiety
The comfort of sedation dentistry facilitates patients to stay comfy and relaxed throughout the dental procedure. The entire process of sedation dentistry is very effective and highly safe as the patients are closely monitored by our competent professionals.

With sedation, the dentist administers a drug before the dental procedure. Only one type — general anesthesia which can be topically applied, injected or swallowed to numb the affected area makes the patient completely unconscious. The other forms will relax them but won’t knock them out completely.

How Does Sedation Dentistry Work?

The process of sedation dentistry depends on the type of sedation we choose to perform depending on your needs. For instance, if you are taking an oral sedative, we will write you a prescription for the drug and give you instructions on how to take it. If you go for laughing gas, you need not to be prepared for the procedure. We will supply it before, during and right after the treatment but if you choose Intravenous sedatives, you may have to prepare in advance as you may not be allowed to eat or drink anything before some hours before the dental work.

Sedation Dentistry is Good For You If You..

  • Have dental Phobia
  • Had bad experience with dental work in the past
  • Have particularly sensitive oral nerves
  • Have general anxiety disorder
