Employ Dental Bridges For Reviving Your Joyous Smile Once Again!

There are many dental problems that can very adversely cause oral health problems, but adult tooth loss is the most serious of them. Many people who lose their tooth are bothered by the visual effects that tooth loss makes on the smile, but there are other health concerns to mull over as well. When we lose a tooth, the functions of the mouth are exposed to danger of infection and the arrangement of the jaw comes at risk. Surrounding teeth are left without appropriate support. Dental bridges are those dental implants which replaces the lost teeth so the mouth is complete again thereby allowing the patients to gain self-confidence and restore full oral functions.

What is a Dental Bridge? A dental bridge is a restorative treatment apparatus which is employed to fill in the gap left by missing teeth. In majority cases a dental bridge is deployed while a patient has a missing group of teeth from the same area of the mouth. A dental bridge fills the gap of a single tooth or if there is a large gap due to two or three consecutively missing teeth.

Benefits of Dental Bridges: This is a highly successful treatment methodology for filling the gap between missing teeth. Besides filling gaps many benefits of dental bridges exist such as:

  • Greater comfort in chewing and eating
  • Renewed confidence
  • Improved speech
  • Maintain the shape of your face
  • Prevent remaining teeth from drifting out of position

What Types of Dental Bridges Are Available?

There are three main types of dental bridges:

Traditional bridges involve creating a crown for the tooth or implant on either side of the missing tooth, with a pontic in between. They are made by fusing porcelain to metals or ceramics.

Cantilever bridges are used when there are adjacent teeth on only one side of the missing tooth. This is not very common nowadays and is not recommended in the back of the mouth.

Maryland bonded bridges are made by fusing to metal, or they are plastic teeth and gums supported by a metal or porcelain framework. Metal or porcelain wings often on just one side of the bridge are bonded to your existing teeth.
